The 2019 T1D Summer Throws Camp is an intensive instructional camp designed to provide the best possible throwing instruction for all athletes, male and female, ages 13-18. Emphasis is place upon improving each individual’s skills and knowledge of throwing.This camp is open to any and all entrants, limited only by age, number or gender of participants.
The goal of the Throws Camp is to give each camper an enjoyable experience by mixing fun with technical development. Camp sessions are designed to improve the fundamental skills required of throwing.
Special instructional exercises will be demonstrated to enhance proper technical development tailored for different age and ability levels.Each camper will receive specific, quality instruction on how to improve his/her throwing.
Campers will be placed into groups of similar ability. Competitions will take place during some sessions.

Meet the Coaches

Mike Judge
Throw1Deep Head Coach/Founder
Coach Mike has coached over 200 high school all-Americans in the throwing events in the last 20 years. He is considered an expert in the field of the strength and power events. He is a USATF level 2 coaches education instructor, and has his IAAF Level 5 Throws Coach certification.

Ronda Broome
Throw1Deep Assistant Coach
SEC runner up in the discus 2006 and NCAA qualifier. 2008 USA Olympics Trial qualifier. USATF Level 2 certified coach. Coached many high school all-Americans and national champions in various events. Former student-athlete at Auburn University. She has her USATF Level 2 certification and is a USATF Level 1 coaches education instructor.

Chris Rogers
Throw1Deep Assistant Coach
Coach Chris is a USATF Level 2 certified throws coach and has been coaching for over 10 years. Coached multiple masters and high school All Americans and national champions. He also has coached 1 elementary school state champs and 2 AAU JO national champs. Father of current state shot put record holder Isaiah Rogers.

Angus Fisher
Throw1Deep Assistant Coach
Coach Angus is a USATF Level 2 Certified throws coach. Coached multiple All-Americans and state champions in Georgia. Before T1D, he was Massachusetts State Coach of the Year and won two state titles in his first 5 years coaching.

Brandon Blanton
Throws CoachCharleston Southern University
Blanton has coached multiple athletes into the top-10 list at CSU; including three that established new program records, and has guided several athletes to the Big South All-Academic team. He holds USATF Level 2 and USTFCCA Strength and Conditioning Certification.

Dale Cowper
Head Track and Field CoachUniversity of Louisville
With 16 years of coaching under his belt, Coach Cowper has lead the Cardinals to 31 All-ACC performances in 2017, has produced multiple All-Americans. Currently is working with Throw1Deep alum Makenli Forrest who got 2nd at NCAA Indoor Championships in 2019.

Erin Gilreath
Olympian and Former American Record Holder
Coach Gilreath has coached at University of Central Florida and at Indiana State University. As a thrower, she was a 2004 US Olympian, former American Record Holder hammer throw, former World Record holder in the 20lb weight throwShe is a USATF Level 2 coaches education instructor.

Dr. Larry Judge
Olympic Coach
Coach Larry is considered one of the top throws coaches in all of the world. He has coached numerous Olympians in the throwing events. Larry is also the chairman for the throws for USATF Coaches Education program.

Dave Schenek
Head Track and Field CoachBarton Community College
Coach Schenek has coached multiple teams to NJCAA National Titles. He has coached 19 National Champions and 95 NJCAA All-Americans. He coached the Chilean National Record holder in the discus. He has his USATF Level 2 in Throws and Jumps.

Larry Satchwell
Throws CoachParkview High School
Coach Satchwell is a USATF Level 2 certified throws coach and completed his IAAF Level 5 Throws Coach certification. He was inducted into the Gwinnett County Hall of Fame
