The 2024 Throw1Deep Summer Throws Camp will provide top-quality throwing instruction for all athletes, male and female, ages 12-19. Athletes will be able to learn Shot Put, Discus, Hammer Throw, and Javelin.
This camp is open to all levels of experience, and features adaptive coaching to aid campers based on individual skill level. True beginners can learn the events from scratch, while advanced athletes can take their skills to the next level.
The goal of the Throws Camp is to give each camper an enjoyable experience by mixing fun with technical development. Fundamentals, instructional drills, and special exercises enhance proper technical development tailored for different age and ability levels. Each camper will receive specific, quality instruction on how to improve his/her throwing.
Campers will be placed into groups of similar ability. Competitions will take place during some sessions.

Meet the Coaches
Mike Judge
Throw1Deep Head Coach/Founder
Coach Mike has coached over 200 high school all-Americans in the throwing events in the last 20 years. He is considered an expert in the field of the strength and power events. He is a USATF level 2 coaches education instructor, and has his IAAF Level 5 Throws Coach certification.
Ronda Broome
Throw1Deep Assistant Coach
SEC runner up in the discus 2006 and NCAA qualifier. 2008 USA Olympics Trial qualifier. USATF Level 2 certified coach. Coached many high school all-Americans and national champions in various events. Former student-athlete at Auburn University. She has her USATF Level 2 certification and is a USATF Level 1 coaches education instructor.
Chris Rogers
Throw1Deep Assistant Coach
Coach Chris is a USATF Level 2 certified throws coach and has been coaching for over 10 years. Coached multiple masters and high school All Americans and national champions. He also has coached 1 elementary school state champs and 2 AAU JO national champs. Father of current state shot put record holder Isaiah Rogers.

Throw1Deep Assistant Coach
Coach Tom is a USATF Level 2 certified throws coach and a successful Masters athlete. Coached high school state champions, high school All Americans and national champions.

Cale McDaniel
Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Kennesaw State University
McDaniel's KSU Owls reached the podium at the ASUN Championships 205 times with 65 earning gold medals. McDaniel's Owls have set 40 school records and 10 ASUN Championship records since the beginning of the 2019 indoor season. In addition, the KSU men's track and field team was awarded the ASUN Beam Award in 2020.
